Miles still gets his time in the spotlight, however, and has some fantastic moments towards the end of the main campaign, even if some of the more interesting explorations of his Puerto Rican/African American culture are reserved for side missions. Obviously, what you take away from the story and its diverse cast of characters will be unique to you.

There is no multiplayer co-op at all, but you can switch between Miles and Peter whenever you want while roaming the open-world of crime-ridden New York City. Both come with unique, individual abilities, as well as snazzy, iconic suits from the movies and comic books. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is taking players on another amazing adventure across Manhattan but before you start web-swinging and slinging, you’ll need to learn the controls. The latest adventure keeps much of the same button layout as the previous games, though it does include an extensive moves list with some new additions, so it’s worth taking a refresher of the controls.

There’s also the prerequisite stealth options which — and this cannot be stressed enough — serve zero purpose for Spider-Man. As with most games, the choice to stick with stealth attacks will almost aways slow down the gameplay and result in most players triggering fisticuffs just to get back to the action. Thankfully, the team at Insomniac seem to have realized this, creating very few scenarios where the stealth is forced outside of mini-game sequences and, of course, Mary Jane. These tables prove just how many kidnappings Kraven and his Hunters were able to get away with after they attacked R.A.F.T. During the fight for his life, Mac Gargan was able to land a blow on Kraven with his tail, which should’ve implemented his infamous poison. But, Kraven always prepares for his hunts and has already worked on an antidote. Kraven kills Scorpion right then and there, ending the entire fight fairly quickly.
